8/1/2017 - Burglary

Shortly after 3:00 AM on July 27th, police responded to a burglar alarm at the Westfield Pharmacy.  Upon arrival, the officers found a door had been forced open.  The suspect ransacked the pharmacy counter, apparently in search of money and drugs.  The investigation revealed that a small amount of cash was stolen along with controlled substances in pill form.

7/14/2017 - Arson

During the night of July 3rd, someone removed the gas cap from a Town and Country van parked in the 200 block of west 1st St. and put a rolled up piece of a tank top into the gas tank.  The suspect lit the cloth on fire and damaged the paint around the gas cap.  The flame burned out before igniting the fuel inside of the tank, however the paint on the van was heavily damaged.

6/30/2017 - Criminal Mischief

During the late evening hours of May 14th, someone caused a considerable amount of damage to a vehicle parked in the 400 block of South Cottonwood.  A 2000 BMW was found with several shattered windows and a shattered sunroof.  The outside mirrors were broken as were the taillights.  Several hate words were carved into the vehicle’s existing paint and others were written on the victim’s car with red paint.

6/15/2017 - Burglary

Within the last 30 days, someone broke into a storage unit located in the 2500 block of Rodeo Rd.  Lincoln County law enforcement have seen a large spike in storage unit burglaries.  Someone used a cutting tool to chop the lock off the storage unit door.  Once inside, the thief stole a propane heater on wheels, a Generac brand generator, an EFCO brand chain saw, numerous hand tools and some tool boxes.

In early April, a North Platte resident had two firearms stolen from his pickup.  Both handguns were in hard plastic cases.  The stolen handguns consist of a black Springfield XDM 9mm semi-automatic pistol with a competition trigger and a black Smith & Wesson M&P 40 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

5/11/2017 - Burglary

On April 15th, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office investigated a burglary at the storage units located in the 3100 block of west 6th.  A lock was cut off a storage unit and several items were stolen.  Two older style televisions were stolen, Magnovox and Advent brands. The unit also contained several collectible basketball shoes including styles marketed by Steph Curry, Lebron and Jordan.

5/1/2017 - Arson

At 6:08 AM, on March 26th a resident living on Bare Street was rudely awakened by an explosion at his front door.  Someone had placed a large firework or other explosive device between the front door to the home and the storm door.  The explosion damaged both doors and the surrounding door casing.

4/19/2017 - Burglary

Sometime during the early morning hours of April 15th, someone broke into Shrake Body Shop located in the 100 block of west Front.  Evidence suggests two people were involved.  The thieves broke out a window and entered the business.  Once inside, the thieves rummaged through the business and stole four paint guns.  All four stolen paint guns were SATA brand model 4000.

Sometime between March 20th and March 22nd, someone entered a home located in the 1800 block of west 16th and stole several firearms.  The stolen guns include a black Taurus .357 revolver, a stainless steel Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a black Beretta .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a two shot Derringer.

3/27/2017 - Theft

Sometime between March 12th and March 14th, someone stole a North Platte Telegraph vending machine.  It was displayed in front of a business located in the 300 block of Rodeo Rd.  The vending machine is red in color with white lettering.  The Telegraph will have to pay a lot of money to replace the stolen machine so the thief could make off with a handful of quarters.
