Sometime between April 15 and April 19th, unknown persons entered a storage unit in the 1100 Block of East 7th. The suspects removed the lock and stole several items from the unit. The stolen items include a bicycle that is a replica of a 1910 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and is equipped with a two stroke engine. The bike is brown and silver in color, with Harley Davidson written on the gas tank. Also stolen were various tools and three Black & Decker battery chargers. The total loss was around $1500.
Recently there has been several reports of bicycle thefts around the area. Please remember to lock up or secure your belongings. Lock it, Hide it, Keep it.

In the overnight hours of March 2, 2020, unknown persons stole several tires off the back of two semis that were parked in the 3200 Block of South Jeffers. The tires are Bridgestone R268 11R22.5. 8 tires with steel wheels were taken. The estimated value is around $5,300.
In the overnight hours of February 28th, a trailer was stolen from Select Abbey Tile and Carpet at 501 East Francis. The stolen trailer is an 18’, Temco Flatbed utility trailer with bumper hitch. The trailer is black in color and has a wood bed with license plate, 15X2289 attached to it. The trailer is valued at $2,000.

During the evening hours of January 20th, 2020, a property in the area of O’Fallons Road & Hwy 30 was entered and burglarized. Multiple tools and other items were stolen, including a blue Makita circular saw, an electric fuel pump, and a Milwaukee hammer drill. The total loss is over $500.
Recently there has been an increase in thefts from vehicles. Please make sure to lock your vehicles and remove any valuables from inside. If you must leave your valuables inside then hide them from sight. Lock it, hide it, keep it!
On December 5th, 2019 a thief broke into a residence in the 2200 block of West 2nd St during the daylight hours. The stolen items included 4 handguns, two shotguns, one rifle, various electronics, and other miscellaneous items.
Over the last month, multiple storage units have been burglarized across North Platte. The thieves are cutting off locks and destroying doors in order to access the units. Please check your property if you have any in a storage unit, and schedule future checks on a regular basis.

During the month of October, several counterfeit bills have been passed to multiple merchants in North Platte. The counterfeit bills are real $10 bills that have been washed and reprinted as $100 bills, defeating the counterfeit pens that are commonly used. On October 10th at approximately 1230 AM, fuel was stolen from several locations in the 3700 block of South Jeffers. The fuel came from semis that were parked overnight in the area. The missing fuel is estimated to be worth over $500. The suspect semi video is posted to the Crime Stoppers Facebook page.

During the weekend of September 28th and 29th, several fences, houses, and vehicles were damaged by having windows smashed and graffiti spray painted on them. This all occurred around the 1000 block of West 4th, or in the near vicinity. The damages are going to cost our citizens several thousands of dollars in repair bills. On September 5th, a local citizen was approached by a person claiming to be working for immigration and customs enforcement. The citizen became suspicious and the male left the area after police were called. Later that same day, between 5 PM and 7 AM September 6th, an unknown person then spray painted racial slurs on the fence of a property in the 1900 block of West A St, owned by that same citizen.

During the weekend of August 16th, 17th, and 18th, unknown subjects broke into a hotel that is currently under construction on Halligan drive. They accessed the freshly installed breaker box and removed 10 breakers. The estimated loss is approximately $30,000. This burglary is similar to the one in February, where a neighboring hotel under construction suffered a similar loss. In both cases, the thieves had to have prior knowledge in order to safely remove the breakers.

During the evening hours of August 3rd, a residence in the 1000 block of North Dewey was burglarized. Some of the missing items are jewelry and a laptop. The loss is estimated to be almost $1500.
On July 14th and 15th, a residence in the 1400 block of West 2nd St was reported to be on fire. That residence and another nearby were severely damaged. Investigators gathered evidence that enabled them to determine that both fires were arsons. Preliminary estimates put the damage at over $100,000.
