Burglary
August 26, 2019
STATUS: OPENDuring the weekend of August 16th, 17th, and 18th, unknown subjects broke into a hotel that is currently under construction on Halligan drive. They accessed the freshly installed breaker box and removed 10 breakers. The estimated loss is approximately $30,000. This burglary is similar to the one in February, where a neighboring hotel under construction suffered a similar loss. In both cases, the thieves had to have prior knowledge in order to safely remove the breakers.

STATUS: OPENDuring the evening hours of August 3rd, a residence in the 1000 block of North Dewey was burglarized. Some of the missing items are jewelry and a laptop. The loss is estimated to be almost $1500.

STATUS: OPENOn July 14th and 15th, a residence in the 1400 block of West 2nd St was reported to be on fire. That residence and another nearby were severely damaged. Investigators gathered evidence that enabled them to determine that both fires were arsons. Preliminary estimates put the damage at over $100,000.

STATUS: OPENDuring the time period of June 26th to June 28th, a resident in the 1700 block of North Cody had many items stolen from a vehicle. Those items consisted of a large amount of fishing equipment from rods and reels to hundreds of lures, all valued over $1000.

STATUS: OPENDuring the first week in June, a white 2012 United 16 foot, double axle, bumper hitch, cargo trailer was stolen from a business in the 1200 block of North Sherman. The trailer has an aluminum rock guard along the front end. The license plate on the trailer is Nebraska plate 15X10233. The loss is over $5000. (similar trailer pictured)

STATUS: OPENOn June 14th at approximately 9 PM, a shed was reported to be on fire in the 500 block of North Emory Ave. Further investigation revealed that the fire was set using an explosive. The fire was ruled an arson.

STATUS: OPENOn May 29th, a large amount of metal was stolen in the area of 6th and Bryan. The items stolen consisted of 50 sheets of metal as well as a door. These items could be used to create a tan in color metal building and are worth almost $1500.

STATUS: OPENOn May 2nd, between the hours of 3 PM and 5 PM, a yellow convertible vehicle was parked on the east side of Cody Park, unattended. During this time, an unknown person attempted to break into the vehicle. The convertible top was heavily damaged and it is estimated it will cost over $4000 to repair.

STATUS: OPENDuring the evening hours of April 17th, 2019, several of the vending machines inside of the laundromat at Rodeo Rd and Adams were vandalized to access the coins inside and three gum ball type machines were stolen. The damage and loss is estimated at approximately $2000.

March 26, 2019
STATUS: OPENOn March 22nd around 9 PM, it was reported that a blue Nissan Altima had been stolen in the 800 block of South Sycamore. That vehicle was abandoned and another vehicle, a black Saturn Vue, was stolen in the 1800 block of East D St. That vehicle was abandoned as well. Both vehicles were recovered, but no suspect was located.

STATUS: OPENDuring beginning of January, a 2016 Polaris 14 ft. long aluminum trailer with a drop-down loading gate was stolen from Budke Power sports in the 600 block of East Halligan Drive. The rims on the trailer are somewhat unique, with a gray and silver pattern. Pictures of the trailer and rims can be seen on our Facebook page.

STATUS: OPENDuring the evening hours of February 10th, the new Comfort Inn was burglarized, which is under construction in the 2800 block of Halligan Drive. A breaker box was cleaned out, with the thieves getting away with 24 200 AMP 3 pole 3 phase breakers, 1 200 AMP Shunt 3 pole 3 phase breaker, and a larger 300 AMP 3 pole 3 phase breaker. The theft of these items is a loss of over $13,000. The thieves would need to have knowledge of electrical systems to know how to safely remove the breakers.

STATUS: OPENOn January 27th, 2019 at approximately 8 PM almost all of the exterior windows of Cornhusker Liquor at 601 Rodeo Rd were broken out by a subject with a baseball bat. That subject was not apprehended and caused well over $5000 in damage to the business.

STATUS: OPENDuring the early morning hours of December 30, 2018, the tires were slashed on multiple vehicles parked north of 7th Street, in the area between Jeffers St and Poplar St. Several items were also stolen from unlocked vehicles. The loss is just under $1500.

On December 22nd in the very early morning hours, multiple vehicles parked in the parking lot in the 1600 block of East 4th Street were entered and over $2000 in items were taken. A black and yellow champion generator was stolen, sound system components including subs and amps, wallets, and various small belongings were missing from the vehicles.
